Wrestling Comes to you at Slambury from the DIA
That's right folks, yours truly from LTS; the host with the most is coming to you live from the Danbury Ice Arena at the show better known as Slam-bury. We have already talked with Justin Credible, Doink the clown, Missy Hyatt and Tatanka. That's just a few of the dozens of stars that are gonna be here. We will be updating this post after every match with update details on what's going on here at the DIA.
April 2008
Whst a month April will be for the cast of Lets Talk Sports. With our new direction that we are heading, as you saw in the last post, we are the first show in Comcast HISTORY to three-peat an award that's one step down from the emmy's. They are known as the telly awards and only the best shows in the country get them. We succeeded to getting it 3 years in a row.
So what do we have planned you may wonder? How about we start right out with the family that started professional wrestling. The Von Erich's. We will be having the daughter of Kerry Von Erich, knwon to all as Lacey as she will be coming on and talking about the legacy of the family and what direction she will be taking in the world of professional wrestling and mind you, she has already started out a wonderful career. From there, we jump into the world of figure skating with special guest Sasha Cohen. She was the 2006 Olympic Silver Medalist. At the age of 19 I believe, she has already proved herself to be one of the best figure skaters in the world. From there, we throw ourselves into the world of horseshoes with local champion Rick Sherwood and Benny DaSilva as they are back to back champions, heading for the first team in history of the GDHC to attempt to have a 3 peat. From there we jump back into the world of speed as we interview a former Nascar winston cup champion who has just retired. Any hints? tune into the show over the next couple weeks to find out. We will also be giving away 2008 All-star game tickets that will be held at Yankee Stadium this year. All this and much much more, on Comcast channel 23 on fridays at 10pm and saturdays at noon. Dont miss the hottest rising show

Been that long, eh?
Wow, I didn't realize that its been almost 2 months since our last post. I guess there's a lot of updating to do. Sad thing is, its been that long almost since we've done a new show. Between myself and the crew of LTS, we needed some very much needed time off to recover from the past two years of the show and get ready for what promises to be a hugely successful year for us for 2008.
After what seems to be an eternity, your number 1 show on Friday nights returns with a season that will blow the cable out of your digital recievers. But first, we have bigger news to report.
Many thanks to those who helped us get to become the first ever 3-peat award winner on all of Comcast community access channels. Guests like the Bridgeport Soundtigers, Devon Dudley, JJ Dillon, Romeo Roselli, the star athletics at WCSU, Lenny Wilkens, the stars and cars of Danbury RaceArena, Don Clady, Hot Rods Incoporated, Tri-State Choppers, Danbury Harley-Davidson, The now defunct Danbury Trashers and the Danbury News-Times and many more guests and sponsors
The two time Telly award winning show has now made it a three-peat. We are the first show in Comcast history to three-peat a national award. Just a recap, the first award was won due to our interview with HOF baseball player Bobby Doerr. The second award was done on our coverage of Super Sunday. And this third award was due to our interview with Romeo Roselli which was our 100th new show and took place LIVE on a Friday night at 9pm. LTS will be throwing a picnic/car and bike show in May that will be a fan appreciation and a chance for everyone to come on out and meet our crew and sponsors as well as meet some of the celebrities that we've had on the show and future guests as well as a couple Nascar stock cars. More details to follow on the show
So what's in store for season 10? With 10 being a milestone number, we have what promises to be a huge season in store. Lets start out by saying there will be a breakdown of wrestlers all CHAMPIONS, a couple of CURRENT WORLD SERIES CHAMPION BASEBALL STARS, figure skating CHAMPIONS, former NYRangers, and so so much more.
See the three time award winning show LETS TALK SPORTS on Comcast channel 23 on Friday nights at 10pm and Saturdays at noon. We're also going on the radio, but more details to follow as we're still penciling in the deal.

Been A While
Okay...so today is Super Sunday and Tuesday is Super Tuesday..think it goes hand in hand? It sure does. Will explain why, but first...Super Sunday
Super Bowl Sunday..in a game that's filled with excitement, this year will definitely be no different. The commercial's are the prime example of the entertainment this year. Oh the game? Come on..its a North-east super bowl and its played in the west; go figure. New England Patriots who have been the most dominant team in NFL history taking on the New York Giants, a calibur of a team that's done a complete 180 at the end of the season. Should be a pretty good game to see, but make sure you mute the sound. Why? Because Joe Buck is calling the game. Even though I'm pulling for the Patriots to win this game, I have to say..the midgets from New Jersey will be tough. If Eli plays the game and hits his recievers and puts the ball on all sides, they do stand a chance. However, if the Pats get off the high horse of this major ego trip that they are the greatest thing to ever hit pro sports, then they too stand a chance. The pats have no covered the spread in 9 weeks so whether they will tonight; The line is 12 so I dont see the spread being covered. It will make out to be a great game, but who knows what will happen, I'm saying the pats win it..35-24.
How ironic is it that Super Tuesday is occuring this week. The biggest event in the year to lead off the biggest government let-down of the year is happening as well. There's money and politics involved in the sports, its all a monopoly..oh did I mention politics with sports in the same sentence?
We will update the blog tomorrow with game highlights and film so check back in case you missed the game and the only way that'll happen is if you have 1 too many if you know what I mean :) Speaking of which, Lets Talk Sports has been invited down to the 50th Anniversary of the Daytona 500 that's happening on Sunday, Fb. 17th so we will be taking a little road trip and doing some highlights and interviews that wil be posted when we get back on the 19th. That's all for this week...be safe and enjoy the game~

Remembering Johnny Podres and Don Cardwell

Folks, I'm not sure how to say this to start off 2008, but the MLB world has lost a pair of legends. We'll get into a little bit about each one of them and both have been guests of the show, Lets Talk Sports so coming up on this friday night, we will take a step back and remember both of them and dedicate this weeks show in honor of the late Johnny Padres and Don Cardwell.
Johnny Podres, was a southpaw (lefty for those who don't follow baseball) for the legendary team; The Brooklyn Dodgers. He spent a couple of wonderful years with the team when they played at Ebbetts Field before moving out west to become the Los Angeles Dodgers. During the time of the 50's, the biggest rivalry in baseball was that of the Dodgers and the Yankees. In 1955, Johnny led the team in pitching to the World Series where they beat the Yankees. He became the leagues first ever World Series MVP. When the team left for LA, he went on to become a WS champ two times more and overall won the series in 55, 59, and 63. In 4 World Series starts, he went on to be 3-1. Johnny passed away at the age of 75.
Don Cardwell was a member of the 69 Mets championship team and helped them win the series by pitching a No Hitter. Before that year though, in 1961 he led the national league in most games started with 38 games. Don was a past guest on the show when the show was just starting out to build into what it is today and because of him, Jay Hook, Carl Erskine, Bobby Doerr and Ralph Branca. He passed away at the age of 72.
Folks, these are the players that helped build the foundation for todays players. If it wasn't for people of the 50's-70s baseball wouldn't be where it is. Whether they were a WS MVP, or a common star, they treated their fans the same. They would sit there for an hour or so and talk to you about what they loved. They didn't care about the money, most of them didn't make money, but they had the passion, they had 1 thing that most of the players dont have today and that was known as Loyalty to what they loved and that was the game of baseball.

It's a small world....
We are still down here at Hooters of Milford, CT and just happened to glance over my left shoulder and who do I see..none other than a 2007 graduate of WCSU, the DH of the baseball team and he was also an alumni of the show, James Furino. Yes...the two Jims are here in Hooters of Milford, with grandmaster Joe and a couple more players of the team watching the game, having a couple cold ones; of what we wont say; and he has just informed me that coming up on Saturday, January 26th he ill be involved in the WPLR 99.1FM Wing Eating Contest at Sports Haven, so make sure you come out to support him and stop by either Hooters and get some of the 3 mile island sauce or go to TK's and get the caribbean hot sauce for him to put on the wings, because that makes it the good taste go down easy. :) that's all for now...enjoy the game, be back with you in about 20 minutes.
Update, WWE News....
Okay, so for those who aren't watching the Pats/Jags game, it seems that they Pats may have bitten off more than they can chew literately. The Jags have evened the score and the game is tied at the Half at 14-14. So while its halftime I'll take the time and let you know some very important news...who remembers the Paul Wight..aka The Big Show from WWE or the Giant from WCW days? Remember on how he said he was retired and not coming back to wrestling? Well, you can take and throw all that out the window as it has been told to us by an inside source that he IS returning to the ring and you can take that to the bank, compliments of LTS..the number one rated sports show in CT. That's our story and we're stickin to it.
2008 Hooters Day
What's up Sportsfans and welcome to 2008. We are coming to you live tonight with a blog on the New England Patriots vs. Jacksonville Jaguars football game, live from Milford, CT at the Hooters Restaurant located on the Boston Post Road. The score right now for those who can't see the game and have access to the web, we will be doing updates at the end of every quarter so I guess now would be a good time to tell you that the New England Patriots are winning the game right now in the second quarter 14-7. We are coming to you now, simply because we couldn't get down here in time..but how many people got to see the football game with the Green Bay Packers against the Seattle Seahawks? Brings back memories of the Ice Bowl game...played at where else but LAMBEAU FIELD. that's all for now, be back in about a half hour.

Update for 08!
What's up fans..okay, so here's the deal. Our last post was more or less just a reflection on the past happenings o f 2007 and we are only three weeks into the new year and already the sports world is being shaken up by what else other than the steroid scandal with unanswered questions. How is a pitcher past his prime capable to still throw a 90MPH fastball? The fact of the matter is this, its been proven to all that Barry Bonds has been taking steroids no matter how much he denies it. We all know it. I know we said we wouldn't address this issue on the show but now my mailbox is starting to get filled with all these questions and just bare with us folks, we will get to the proof and put it out there for you all to see, and we can do that because we are media that's not controlled, we are a community access sports show and this is the time that we love it because we do get all the inside information and we're not main-staged controlled by the bigger networks.
So now the question on whether Roger Clemens is guilty of taking steroids. Well, who's to judge on whether he has or not. He's definitely not showing it obliviously the way Bonds, McGwire and Palmeiro did. As his buddy said "I did it one time on a rehab stint" okay..I'm glad Pettite admitted to it, this year is going to be a long year for the world of baseball and slowly but surely the game we once knew is going to be gone.
Everyone thinks that they can pull a Bill Clinton and get away with....just no cigars involved.

What's In Store For 2008?
Wow..2007 saw a lot of crazy and great things that happened in the sports world as well as some tragedy. Where do we begin? Why don't we start off by saying to everyone that we hope you all had a happy and safe holiday season and was able to bring the new year in with some joy.
Lets Start our year off here with a midsummer night where two legends became legends of the game. July 29th, 2007 was the day that baseballs new ironman, Cal Ripken Jr and Tony Gwynn were enshrined into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.
Cal Ripkens streak of 2,632 straight games is something that will never be touched. That's just the lighter side of his career that spanned for decades. Another great achievement was reaching to the midsummer classic 19 times in a 21 year career. He finished his career with 431 HR's and a .276 batting average. The other enshrinement was Tony Gwynn. Gwynn spent a career with the San Diego Padres. He spent 20 years with that team, something that is unheard of; even to this day. Out of that 20 year career, he spent 15 playing in the Midsummer classic. He finished his career with 135 Hr's and a .338 batting average.
Fast forward to November 18th with a spotlight on the NFL. Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns. One of the most fired-up defensive players in the league; who was on a cold-streak of not making big plays, stepped up and unleashed what seemed to be an eternity of fustration. #52 Ray Lewis. Lewis had every position covered on that game, going with deep coverage, short coverage, tackles galore. He finshed that day with 23 tackles. When talked to about the game, he just smiled and winked. We both knew that for one day he beat what seemed to beat everyone out there. Father Lewis defeated Father Time.
Rewind back to May 31 with the NBA. There are all kinds of sports athletes that are prospects and step up to have big games, and then there's some who don't live up to the hype. This next superstar did live up to the hype and he finally had a team to help him, not that he needed it on this night. I'm talking about cleveland Cavaliers sensation LeBron James. This was one game where he was often manhandled with coverage of 5 guys to one and still wouldn't get rid of the ball. He ended up going for a final total of 48 points on the night. Can you still wonder if this guy is the next michael jordan or doctor J? Ohh yea, did I mention that this was done against the Detroit Pistons?
And then of course there's the ongoing Steroids scandal. One of the greatest things about this though is that the Bonds ball will forever be tainted with an asterick, just the way his whole career was tainted. But you know every sport has steroids involved in it, theres no such thing as a "clean" athlete anymore. In the 80's it was Hulk Hogan of wrestling fame...Lawrence Taylor of the NFL..and so now, there's some room for it involved in baseball.
That's all for this posting, wil return to you with another update later.

Birthday Boy turns 27!
Hooters of Manchester, CT
Hooters of Wethersfield, CT

Hooters of Wethersfield, CT
Okay, so we all know that December 16th was my Birthday and I can tell you..what a time it was. First we started off by going to Hooters (my favorite sports bar and without a doubt, the only true sports bar that knows how to have a good time)..we started out with the Hooters of Wethersfield with Audra being the waitress. Was an awesome time. It was in the middle of the storm so place wasn't jam-packed but it was starting to get filled up as we were leaving.
So we left the Hooters there to continue our journey to the Hooters of Manchester. Folks..lemme tell you, forget the local Danbury Sports locations, you want to celebrate your birthday, go up there and celebrate it with those girls. I can't exactly describe my experience in full detail but what I can say is this...I will remember for the rest of my life. It involved a lil red wagon. So very special thanx to Jenn, CC and the rest of the girls up at the Manchester Hooters for making my birthday a memorable one. And I never knew that there were soo many people out there with Birthdays on the same day as me. I believe his name was tyler, but there was a kid there that was turning 11. So happy birthday to everyone who shared their special day on the same as mine.

Nor'Eastern
ok..so I wasn't going to comment on the Northeastern that we had yesterday but I almost have to take and address it. Not only did the Northeast get slammed with the bad weather, but the whole entire NFL was in shock and awe due to the Miami Dolphins winning there first game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens. Let me say that again....The Dolphins beat the Ravens. I almost can't even fathom that this is the same team of the Ravens that nearly upset the New England Patriots just a couple weeks ago. Another game that took me by surprise was nicknamed the "07 Ice Bowl" Who would've thunk it that this game would be rehappening. Better yet, lets not..what a poor disgrace of football and two teams playing that no one really cares about. I mean..the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns? wow, good job to the NFL. The must have known that the weather was going to be the way it was.
Here's another shocker to the NFL this year...the Washington Redskins beat the New York Midgets. Sorry Giants fans, but they haven't been the Giants since they had Kerry Collins as their QB. And in a game that I felt had poor sportsmanship in the end...The Eagles and the Cowboys. Okay, so the final score was 10-6 but lets talk about that for a minute.
2:13 left on the clock. 4th Quarter. Eagles lead 10-6. Eagles have the ball and McNabb hands it off to Brian Westbrook. He breaks 3 tackles and runs the ball in the open field, but wait...he slides down at the 1 yard line when he very well could have scored the TD and make it 17-6 giving Dallas the ball with around 1:50 left in the game and dallas with NO TIMEOUTS. So what do the Eagles do? Coming out of the break of the 2 minute warning, they down the ball for the remaining of the game. What kind of stuff is that? So that will be our poll question for this week.

So that will be our poll question for this week.

Update
We are still working on getting the clips up from the Romeo show. What a show it was last night that was set up with the Danbury Dream Team. Not much of a blog for now because we're on a time constraint with getting ready to go to the WCSU Womens basketball game and then we have the Danbury Dream Team Basketball game.
For those who wish to attend, Comcast is holding an open house where you can come down and meet the producers. We will be attending as well as Al Bruhn, producer of USA TV Talk. Al was a professional mat technician and grappler for all his life. Also will be Justin Mazz from the show USA TV Talk Sports which is a spinoff of Al's show. Also in attendance will be James Yorks which is the producer of the weekly show Lets Talk Sports. Also scheduled to be there, John McGowan, producer of John McGowan Presents. Kevin Gallagher, Producer of Time Out and possibly more.
That's all for now, stay tuned for more...

LTS Turned 100!!
That's right, we completed our live show on this past friday night and what a night it was. We brought in professional wrestler/model/actor...Romeo Roselli. We will try to put some clips of the show up on here once we figure out how to do it. For now, just go to google to check out the clips and highlights. We put on an awesome show and one of the best programs to hit the 9pm time slot in countless years.
So we had this little snow/ice storm last night that made everything a mess, does that mean that we will only have 2 more storms for the remaining of the winter? We'll have to wait to see.
We have a new poll question this week so be sure to cast your votes.

Car/Bike Show

Okay..so we had our very first Toys For Tots car and bike show last week. Sorry it took so long to update this, but we will try to do this on a weekly basis. First off we would like to thank all the people who weathered the cold day to come down and help support our cause and that was to raise money/toys for the kids who are unfortunate. What a successful time we had. We raised almost 1000 dollars, and raised as much in toys.
In the sports world for the week, what a world of events. Cowboys running amuck on the New York Jets, UConn Huskies getting pounced by West Virginia. Will the sunday football games ring true? Will the Partiots continue the their undefeated streak and win the game by 22 points or more over the Eagles? Will the Giants continue their run? How about Miami...Will they finally find the end zone and win a game? Stay tuned...with the Nascar season over, anything's possible.
Coming up on Friday November 30th, 2007 at Comcast studios, we will be doing a Live Show at 9pm with wrestling superstar Romeo Roselli. It will be on Comcast channel 23 as well as on Youtube.

First post!!
Whats up sports fans and thanks for stopping by to read our first blog here on the net. This is where you will find out about all of our upcoming events as well as current events in the sports world. Feel free to leave some feedback as we will take all things into consideration.
We are gearing up for what appears to be a successful First annual TOYS FOR TOTS Car/Bike show coming up on Sunday November 18th, 2007. We are unsure exactly of how many/what cars will be there, but we do know for a fact already that we have some former cars that were raced in the Danbury RaceArena including Chick Stockwell's #151 stock car, the #74 and a couple other ones. Once we get the show going, we'll try to report to let ya know.
Next thing on the calendar is our show that will be live on Friday November the 30th, 2007. It will air LIVE at 9pm on Comcast channel 23. Joining us will be former WWE Superstar, Romeo Roselli..we are still looking for a studio audience to come in and be interactive. This will be our 100th show so anything can happen as we are trying to pull out all the stops.
Thats all for now, we'll see you tomorrow.
